As we saw in the outcome of Virginia’s gubernatorial election results in November, many parents are up in arms over the lack of control they have in their children’s education.

Youngkin tapped into pent up parental anger over decisions by their local school boards in the state, promising solutions and stressing parents have a right to make decisions about their children’s education. That message helped him defeat the incumbent Democrat governor Terry McAuliffe in a traditionally blue state.

Of course, this is not just an American issue. Parents around the world are voicing concerns about what their children are being taught—or not being taught—in classrooms. Add to that vaccine mandates, school closures, and mask mandates and you’ve got a recipe for revolt.

See, the late Nelson Mandela got it right when he said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” The problem is, education can also be used to warp the minds of God-loving children, or pull them into antichrist ideologies before they have the opportunity to meet their Lord and Savior.

This month, Awakening Prayer Hubs is tackling issues on the so-called education mountain of society. If we want to take nations back for Christ, we need to actively pray for the educational system, which has tremendous opportunity to sway young minds toward good or evil. That’s why 63 percent of Americans think parents should have the “final say” in public education, according to The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.

Let’s pray:

We decree the children are the Lord’s and are off limits to perverse teachings and unhealthy ideologies (Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 18:16).

We decree each child is a gift from God and has the right to know his or her maker, to be taught God’s Word, and truthful representations of history (James 1:17; Psalm 127:3)

We pray parents take to heart God’s directive to teach and train up a child in the way they should go—a way of righteousness and serving the Lord as King (Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4)

We forbid school board associations, district and school leadership, and curriculum developers from teaching evil doctrines of demons to children in our educational system (3 John 1:4; Proverbs 16:12)

Lord, let the best teachers come forth in this critical assignment to teach the children (see 1 Kings 19:18; Isaiah 45:13).

We pray a halt and a reversal to any and all lessons teaching children to embrace perversion, from preschool to university (Matthew 10:15; Psalm 5:8).

Let Your Holy Spirit move on each child with great wisdom and grace if they are asked to reflect on new thinking regarding the family structure (Hebrews 10:16).

We pray the God-given rights of parents to teach their children about God’s design for marriage, family, and creation will prevail in school systems. We forbid any hinderances to the child-parent relationship by educators (Isaiah 54:13).

We pray for godly parents arise and take back the teachings of God’s Word to their children, rather than depending solely on Sunday school and other programs to fulfill this biblical directive (Proverbs 29:15).

Raise up and send godly people to the educational mountains who will not compromise the Word of God (Exodus 18:21; Matthew 20:26).

We pray for a way of escape from the vaccine mandates that could put children in harm’s way (1 Corinthians 10:13; Proverbs 21:1).

We pray for wisdom for parents as they choose where and how to educate the children, and favor with the schools to hear and listen to their voices in cities or nations where parents have few or no godly educational options in their communities (James 1:5-6; Psalm 119:11; Isaiah 58:11).

Pour out Your Spirit on the schools and let Your manifest presence rest upon students lead to a revival that sweeps through campus (Acts 2:17; 2 Corinthians 3:17).

Let purity be the new trend that sweeps through schools (Genesis 1:27).

Lord, let Your protecting angels on assignment guard and keep the children from violence on school grounds, thwarting those who seek to do evil (Psalm 91:11).

We cover the classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, libraries—every part of the school campuses—with the blood of Jesus, the spirit of love, peace, joy and kindness let Your presence permeate the atmosphere of learning (Psalm 97:5; Psalm 73:28; Micah 5:4-5).
