It’s a shocking statistic! More than 80 and up to 90 percent of children who grow up in church are leaving the church once they reach 18. Sadly, only 40 percent return, according to Focus on the Family.

I believe, with prayer, we can defy those statistics. Indeed, God is trying to wake up the world—and I believe He is also going to wake up a massive number of prodigals in this season.

But, again, we need to pray.

Never underestimate the power of your prayers. It got saved because of the power of a praying great grandmother and a praying grandmother.

Isaiah 55:11 (AMP) says, “So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

God is in the business of saving people. He sent His only begotten Son into the world to seek and save those who are lost.

Awakening Prayer Hubs is focusing on an awakening among the prodigals. Join the movement at www.awakeningprayerhubs.com.

Let’s pray.

Pray for Jesus Christ be formed in the prodigal (see Galatians 4:19).

Pray God will break the blinders off their eyes (see 2 Corinthians 3:14).

Pray the prodigal will be delivered from the evil one (see Proverbs 11:21).

Pray that God’s laws will be in their minds and on their hearts (see Hebrews 8:10);

Pray that they will choose companions who are wise—not fools, nor sexually immoral, nor drunkards, nor idolaters, nor slanderers, nor swindlers (see 1 Corinthians 5:11).

Pray for God to remove evil, ungodly friends and influences from their lives (see Proverbs 13:20).

Pray to loose the Holy Spirit in their lives. The spirit that raised Christ from the dead can raise the prodigal loved one back to right-standing in the Kingdom (see Romans 6:10-11).

Pray for God to send laborers in their path who will drop seeds of truth, water the word and even prophesy over them with accuracy that opens their eyes to God’s love for them (Matthew 9:38).

Pray over the specific issues you see in the prodigal’s life, whether it’s bad influences at work, addictions in their life, etc.

Pray that God would encounter their hearts with His great love and that His kindness will lead them to repentance (see Romans 2:4).

Pray the prodigal will come to his/her senses (see Luke 15:17-20).Pray for a persevering spirit to keep asking, seeking and knocking (see Romans 12:12).
