Inflation is at a forty-year high and is rising around the world. Interest rates are inching up. Consumers are seeing price hikes. Some economists are predicting a mild recession while other industry watchers are predicting an economic crisis in some parts of the world. And some nations, like Sri Lanka and Venezuela, are already in economic crisis.

We’re now hearing terms like stagflation. Stagflation is persistent high inflation combined with high unemployment rates and a stagnant demand in a country’s economy. This could be the perfect storm the late John Paul Jackson prophesied about many years ago. Or the economies could bounce back quickly. Only God knows.

What we do know is this: One day Babylon will fall. Revelation 18:1-3 tells us plainly:

“After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”

Noteworthy is the verse that comes right after this. Revelation 18:4 reads: “And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” The Message translation puts it this way: “Get out, my people, as fast as you can, so you don’t get mixed up in her sins, so you don’t get caught in her doom.”

As Christians, we need to be careful not to get caught up in the world’s system. We must not depend on the arm of flesh. God is our source. He is the minister of supply who supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (see Philippians 4:19).

Prophetically speaking, now is not the time to stop sowing financially, sowing your prayers, and sowing your time into the Kingdom. 2 Corinthians 9:10 tells us plainly that God gives seed to the sower and bread for food. If we are supposed to eat the bread, not the seed. Too many Christians pull back on sowing and then suffer a lack attack as the enemy devours their harvest.

God spoke through Malachi to bring the tithes into the storehouse and gave a two-fold promise. Number one, He will rebuke the devourer. Number two, He will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing you cannot contain (see Malachi 3:10).

I see the enemy attacking Christians with fear of giving. It’s a diabolical plan to tempt you to eat your seed. God did not give you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (see 2 Timothy 1:7). Remember, you are not of the world or subject the economies of this word. You are a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven and God owns all the silver and the gold.

Nevertheless, many who do not believe are subject to economic crisis. And we want to stand in the gap for the world economies. Awakening Prayer Hubs is focusing on pushing back economic crisis this month. Will you join us?

Repent of any greed in your heart, your church, your city or your nation (Ephesians 4:19; 1 Timothy 6:10).

Pray for God’s mercy.

Pray national leaders—and all people—humble themselves, and pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways; that He would hear from heaven, will forgive our sin, and heal the land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Pray for the exposure of corruption; pray that justice and righteousness would be at the foundation of nations (Psalm 89:14; Proverbs 16:11-13).

Pray His people would not envy the arrogant when they see the prosperity of the wicked, for God is the strength of our heart and our portion forever (Psalm 73:3; 26).

Pray for the transfer of wealth from the wicked to the righteous for the advancement of His Kingdom (Proverbs 13:22).

Pray God would give wisdom to leaders of nations and reveal to His people strategies for stable economies.

Pray nations would lend to the poor, for He will reward the lender (Proverbs 19:17).

Pray God will supply all our needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

Decree and declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the finances of the Church (Matthew 16:18).

Pray for awakening and transforming revival during the shaking of nations (Hebrews 12:25-29).

Pray that the church would put its trust and hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment (1 Timothy 6:17).

Decree and declare God will guide leaders and global financial decision makers to do His will and show them the way to follow (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Pray for godly wisdom for our families about how to plan for economic crisis (Genesis 12:10-16).

Pray that we will be blessed in famine and have supernatural favor with those in authority (Genesis 12:16).

Pray that our flight will not be in winter if we have to leave to other lands due to famine, disease, or other crisis (Matthew 24:20).

Pray for supernatural wisdom from dreams and visions to flow to our leaders and lay people so we may rise up in victory against the evil one (Genesis 41).

Pray for marriages to be solidified and fight against the attacks of the enemy that may come through financial struggles. Pray against strife in marriages (Mark 10:9).

Pray against a spirit of fear being released to children and adults who may worry about meals, clothing, and other things that God has taken care of for His Beloved who sow in obedience to Him. Pray for power, love, and a sound mind to be released in abundance in the earth (Psalm 37:25; 2 Timothy 1:17).

Pray for dream interpretation to abound in the earth so more will understand, interpret, and speak what God is saying in this hour through dreams and prophetic ministry (Genesis 42).

Pray for forerunners to go forth with supernatural wisdom and obedience to God, like Joseph, who served faithfully and prepared a way for his family in famine (Genesis 50:20).

Pray for supernatural wealth and riches to be released to the righteous so that we may fund God’s projects and kingdom agenda even in famine and economic crisis (Proverbs 13:22).
