As part of Awakening Prayer Hub’s 5050 Campaign, we’re praying for one state each week until election week 2024. It’s a critical time to pray for the United States and each state plays a role in the union. Join the campaign at www.awakeningprayerhubs.com/5050.

Known prophetically as the “Show Me Your Glory” State, Missouri is named after the Missouri Native American tribe. The states is home to the largest mammal in North America—the American bison—and is the top producer of mined lead in the U.S.

Author Samuel Clemens (better known as Mark Twain), inventor George Washington Carver, author T.S. Eliot, Molly Brown (known as the Unsinkable Molly Brown after surviving the R.M.S. Titanic tragedy), and former President Harry Truman were all born in Missouri.

Missouri today is rife with challenges. According to Brookings Institution Center, the spread of the national economic downturn to Missouri has depressed tax collections and increased the demand for social services, resulting in a troublesome state and local fiscal moment. This has highlighted pocketbook concerns and underscored that the state must make the most of limited resources.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce study found that Missouri misses an estimated $1.35 billion annually for the state’s economy, including a $280 million annual loss in tax revenue, due to childcare issues. Additionally, 28 percent of respondents reported that they or someone in their household has left a job, not taken a job, or greatly changed jobs because of problems with childcare in the last 12 months.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s most recent statistics, heart disease killed 14,579 Missourians in 2016; cancer killed another 12,696. These two disorders far surpass the other leading causes of death in Missouri. Then, of course, there are the same challenges in Missouri as other parts of the nation, such as high taxes, public education lacking, high crime rates in metropolitan areas, and drug abuse.

This week, Awakening Prayer Hubs is praying for Missouri.

Let’s pray:

Enter into identificational repentance of freemasonry involvement, occult activity, and blood sacrifices; racial injustice and slavery; idolatry; history of wars, civil war, and battles; sexual immorality.

Call forth Kingdom-minded business leaders who bear the fruit of the Spirit and build for His glory.

Pray to come against the religious spirit; that the Church in Missouri would rise up in boldness, by fire, and not back down amidst the fight.

Pray the Church would ascend in the spirit upon the hill of the Lord with clean hands and pure heart.

Pray the Lord would open the eyes of the heart of the Church, that the Church would see with fresh eyes and prophetic perspective.

Pray for more intercessors and watchmen to arise in Missouri.
