Over this past week, there have been a series of school shootings. Texas, Michigan and Massachusetts have all been hit with this type of violence.
In a mass shooting at a Splash Pad in Michigan, nine people were injured including children. Some were seriously injured. One eight-year-old was reportedly shot in the head.
Another school shooting occurred at a Juneteenth Celebration in Texas. Two people killed. More than a dozen were injured. Meanwhile, at least eight people were injured at a party in Massachusetts. As of this article’s writing, at least two are in critical condition.
According to The Gun Violence Archive, so far in 2024, there have been more than 225 mass shootings in the United States. Previous trends show gun violence is about to increase. Studies show during the hot summer months gun violence is more likely to occur.
This past weekend’s shootings arrived on the heels of The Supreme Court striking down President Trump’s ban on Bump Stocks. Bump-stocks are used to modify semi-automatic weapons into automatic weapons. Machine guns if you will.
The increase of demonic influences in music, television and movies coupled with a generation raised on violent video games is part of the reason for this increase in violence.
Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:1: ”But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:“ I think you’d agree these are perilous times.
And Jesus says in Matthew 24:12: ”And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.“ New King James Version. What we are witnessing is a demonic siege on the souls of mankind. It is a world operating in conjunction with the character of the god of this world. Many of these shooters neither love themselves nor do they love anyone else. So before they take their own lives, they try and take as many with them as possible. That is the ultimate plan of the enemy. Steal, kill and destroy.
How do we pray?
As intercessors, let us proclaim the Will of Jesus. Jesus says in John 10:10, “I come that you would have life and have it more abundantly.”
Let us speak Life over our cities.
Let us pray for mercy.
Let us pray the Father will send angelic shields, a bullet roof force field to cover our cities in Jesus’ name.
